A lot of athletes today have received scholarships and now play in the major sports leagues of america. For example people like Derrick Rose who won the NBA MVP. Yet he was never really a good student, and wouldn't met the expectations to receiving a scholarship. That discredited every single stat he got in college. Other players like Dwayne Wade Miami Heat franchise player also received a scholarship to a division 1 team. since he was not meeting the standard all the time he decided to study harder. That show how really the most important thing in scholarships are the academics.
