Design project-day 1

Define Phase:
Elementary Kids(both)
Difficulty challenging
What makes a game fun?
1.challenging, but possible to complete.
2.  not tiring
3.  not so repetitive.
4.  visuals
5.  addicting

Research Phase:
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbiXbcQszhQ fuse ball machine:  its fun and classic game.  it has a very simple design, however i think they could make it bigger so it can be more like a normal sized one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vFWbeoz0wk pinball machine:  it looks very fun and professional.  but it looks like it is hard to make and maybe a bit too hard to win for elementary students.


http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QyG1W56C5k basketball game:  i like how simple it is to make and play also the ball wont get lost because of the string.  it is is a bit too easy we would have to find a way to make it harder.  


Ideation Phase:

its fun for the kids and they can do it without us there.  that makes it funner also its like a classical game with a sort of twist to it.

After brainstorming we decided that the best option for the game would be a pinball machine where once you can get a ball that is held by a magnet to move by hitting it with the pinball you win.  we will cut holes into the cardboard to make it  more difficult and also but barriers and blockers.  that makes it fun because its challenging yet doable.  

could go wrong:  the game might end to quickly so we have to make it harder.  it could be very easy to break since it is made out of cardboard.
