M-banking or electronic wallets

What you wonder or questions you have about the topic before researching?  I'd like to know what the topic is about and what i can use it for.  Also what advantages can i get from learning about this topic.

What I learned?
1.  digital wallets are being developed to carry credentials to peoples phones like drivers license.
2.  these could leaf to better fraud-proof ID system.
3.  it could help stores allowing the store owner to do stuff like verify the age of the buyer.
4.  M-banking can allow people to manage their finances through the phones, like making micropayments, transfer money, etc.
5.   it makes communication with the customers easier.

Since I have used these technologies like e wallets in playstation stores now I can know how they work better.  I also understand how they can be very effective and and facilitate many aspects of life.

how safe is it giving all of this information to whatever company or keeping it online?
